Hobby Within A Budget

A hobby is a gift of talents supported by knowledge and skill. The value is in the sharing and having the ability to earn an income.

All hobbies have a tremendous amount of measurable value to their owners.

All hobbies require talents which are supported by knowledge and skills. Our hobbies and interests are extensions of our personalities and our heart's desires.

We can entertain one hobby or we can have many hobbies at any given time.  It is not unusual for a hobby to become a business.

There are short term, long term, and lifetime hobbies. My dance interest became my first business, and now my writing hobby is becoming my second business. Speaking from experience, anyone who is active in any form of arts and crafts will not lack the wherewith all to experience an entrepreneurial lifestyle.

If a business is not of interest to you, then the making of gifts and sharing with others is very rewarding.

Interests and Knowledge

Pursuing new interests gains new knowledge and experiences. It is well worth additional costs to pursue meaningful pleasures. Financial obstacles can be overcome as many of us become creative fundraisers to continue our heart’s desires.

Our hobby selection also is dependent on what we can budget within our income status.

Low income: a person’s hobby will include those interests which can be done for free or very low cost. A few examples would include reading, writing, walking, running, and hiking, watching television, listening or playing music, listening to the radio, and fishing.
 
Middle income: Pursuing hobbies which may possibly be monetized for a career choice. There will be a small investment which is manageable. Examples of these hobbies are dancing, golfing and other sports, hunting, camping, gambling, billiards, collectibles, miniatures, arts and crafts, movies and theater performances, and gardening.
 
Upper middle income – These hobbies will require monies for supplies, class instruction, and include support activities, such as club memberships, inventory, equipment, and training manuals. Examples of these hobbies include photography, videographer, scuba diving, traveling, boating, gourmet cooking, fine art painting, and making fine jewelry from gems, gold, and platinum.
 
Upper income – Free to pursue anything you wish, but continue to be aware of monies spent and maintenance costs. 
 

Playing an instrument will give pleasure to self and others. You may wish to volunteer your talent or it may become your life's work.

Woodworking is a craft requiring carpentry skills. It is much in demand for making toys, cabinets, boats, bridges, and constructing buildings. Anything imaginable can be built with wood.

Watching dogs run is okay, but to many people it is much more exciting to watch a greyhound race. Put your money to win, place, or show adds excitement towards the hope of winning a purse.

Perhaps, you do not have arts and crafts abilities. That's okay too. There are many hobbies which require observation only.

Being a spectator for any type of event, sport, or performance is needed.

Bird watching is very popular. Gambling is popular with dogs and horses. Without anyone watching who would monitor a race or for that matter someone needs to be around to monitor whatever the activity may be.

A performing artist, a television show, a movie, a musical concert, and other similar events need an audience.
