Each square, triangle, circle, or strip is sewn together using a pattern guide which repeats itself until the project is completed. This is the application of decorative pieces which are not square, rectangular, or strips. Flowers and simple figurines of people and animals are very popular. The third challenge is Modern Quilting. This style is the newest trend of using graphic designs and negative space. A fun challenge is Crazy Quilting. Use traditional squares which may be decorated with any type of notions.
